Our History
Hoddesdon Baptist Church has been part of the community since 1897, when we first gathered at The Three Cups Coffee Tavern Hall.
We were officially received into the Baptist Union in 1901, marking the beginning of a new chapter. In 1909, we acquired our current site, and plans were set in motion to build both a church and a school. The foundation stone was laid in 1914, and later that same year, the main sanctuary was opened. Over the years, we've grown, with additional halls added in 1967.
We’re proud of our rich history and the part we’ve played in the town over the years. If you’d like to learn more, we’ve got a booklet about our journey, published for our centenary of joining the Baptist Union. Feel free to ask if you’re curious!
