What is HBC all about?

We Have One Aim

Bringing glory to God by helping people follow Jesus
 

Two Tools

God has provided us with two tools for enabling us to achieve our aim:

1 - The Bible
2 - Prayer

We help people hear the message of the Bible, understand it, believe it and apply it to their whole lives and we do this in prayerful dependence on the Holy Spirit.
 

Three Priorities

The Bible emphasises three priorities which help to anchor the church in its mission:

Faith – we look back to what God has said and done and put our trust in this

Hope – our faith leads us to look forward and believe the promises of God to come

Love – our faith and hope results in love for God and love for others
 

Four Tasks

In our church all this is worked out through four tasks:



We show the love of God to everyone

We create opportunities where we can tell people the gospel in a clear and compelling way so they can make an informed response

We provide activities where Christians can grow in their faith

We train and equip people so they can serve Jesus wherever they go
 

We belong to Baptists Together and the Central Baptist Association, and are also members of the Evangelical Alliance.
