Pastor
Dave Gooderidge
Dave joined the leadership of the church in 2022. He's married to Louise. Their journey started in Wolverhampton, where they met, married, and built their early careers in places like Marks & Spencer, the Civil Service, and Severn Trent Water.
After studying at the London School of Theology, they moved to Hertford, where Dave served as Assistant Minister for five years, learning the ropes of being a Pastor. During this time, Louise embraced life as a mum to three children, and it was a busy, joyful blur!
Their next chapter took them to the New Forest, where Dave served as Lead Pastor at Lymington Baptist Church for 21 years. Louise worked as a part-time childminder and teaching assistant before making a bold decision in 2014 to train as a teacher. She now serves at a local primary school in Hoddesdon, as deputy head.
Through it all, Dave and Louise have been driven by a shared passion: helping people experience the transformative power of Jesus in their lives.
Deacons
Our Deacons provide a vital role in giving our church strategic leadership as well as ensuring that the church is well managed. The Pastor and Deacons form the Leadership Team and are also Trustees.

Hi, I’m Ed. I’ve been a member of the HBC family for over 20 years and enjoy being part of the fellowship where I take a lead in Safeguarding and am involved in the children’s ministry. My career was in education until I retired and I continue to enjoy engaging with people by working part-time in Hertford library.I still have one foot in education and serve as a Governor at a local Church of England primary school. I enjoy spending time with our family, reading, restoring old radios and being outdoors, either gardening or walking. |

Hello, I'm Kathryn. After teaching the piano and cello to all ages, I moved into teaching music in primary schools. After retirement, I worked as an administrator at All Nations Christian College. As Church Secretary I enjoy the administration, and encouraging people in their faith journey. I greatly enjoy craft activities either alone or with others. |

I’m Rosanne, I took early retirement in 2025 after working as a science technician. I lead worship and am involved in encouraging and enabling prayer at HBC. I enjoy walking, running and I’m a keen gardener. |

Hi, I'm Simon. I'm a civil engineer and spend my days organising people to inspect the wonderful railway infrastructure that we have. I have been part of the church for over 20 years. I help lead the children’s ministry and love seeing young people grow in their faith. I also look after the premises. I love sport, music, a good mystery and spending time with family and friends. |
