Our experience of entering heaven will depend on what we have done with what God has given us, so be prepared to take risks now for God for eternal reward in heaven. The british evangelist Henry Varley energised D L Moody when he said “The world has yet to see what God can do through a man who is totally yielded to Him.” Moody determined to be that man.
Luke chapter 16 verses 19 to 31.
The horror and eternity of hell. Uncomfortable, yet we learn most about hell from the words of Jesus himself. If it was not such an awful punishment of sin by a just God there would have been no need for Jesus' sacrificial death to bear our due punishment in his body on the cross. Second in the 4 part series. Based on three readings, 1 Thessalonians 4 vv 13-18, 1 Corinthians 15 vv 35-44 Revelation 21 vv 1-5 at the start of the recording. The sermon starts at 9 minutes 15 secs.
In heaven Christians who die will enjoy: a renewed earth, a resurrection body, an antidote to disappointment, an endless opportunity to learn and complete satisfaction. Heaven and hell, the here and now. How true believers need no fear of death, but should live now in fellowship with Jesus as we will be in heaven. To quote John Stott, "The Cross is the blazing fire at which the flame of our love is kindled, but we have to get near enough for its sparks to fall on us."
