Matthew records what is known as the "Massacre of the Innocents". We see God's foreknowledge in the protection and provision for Jesus. Even though we cannot understand such terrible things we find that God sees and God knows even in the worst things.
In the passage Matthew records three reactions to Jesus' birth. Herod will not bow down to God so rejected Jesus, the religious leaders knew about God but ignored him, the Magi came to worship God.
Our relationship with God should not be a duty but a delght. Delight will give us fellowship with God, fulfilment, fruitfulness and freedom from stress. Due to audio interference a small section of the talk has been cut out without the loss of the main message,
Jesus said in John chapter 15 verse 14 "You are my friends". God delights in us as seen in Isaiah chapter 62 verse 5 "as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so your God will rejoice over you." We have a wonderful invitation to know intimacy with God.
