The second session on this passage this time looking at the humanity and humility of Jesus. We see how Jesus became a refugee so that we might gain a permanent home in heaven.
In the passage Matthew records three reactions to Jesus' birth. Herod will not bow down to God so rejected Jesus, the religious leaders knew about God but ignored him, the Magi came to worship God.
Oh what a Mystery, Manhood and Deity:
God's radical inclusive love for us shown in the genealogy (origin) of Jesus. Jesus brings good news, NOT advice. God works Jesus' genealogy to include many fallen imperfect people, showing that he can work through failing people including us to achieve to purposes.
Our experience of entering heaven will depend on what we have done with what God has given us, so be prepared to take risks now for God for eternal reward in heaven. The british evangelist Henry Varley energised D L Moody when he said “The world has yet to see what God can do through a man who is totally yielded to Him.” Moody determined to be that man.
